Accordingly, we have created this Privacy Notice which sets forth the privacy principles and describes the practices that will be followed with respect to the privacy of users of this site. From time to time, alterations to the ExponentHR website or other services offered by Exponent Technologies may necessitate changes to this Privacy Notice and you are advised to review it periodically. By using the ExponentHR website, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information by Exponent Technologies.

How is personal information collected and used?
Personal information is used by Exponent Technologies to develop and deliver services, process transactions, respond to your questions and to fulfill legal and regulatory obligations. We may collect information about you from a variety of sources including:

  • Your direct access and use of our website.
  • The submission of paper forms to us by you or your employer.
  • Information obtained about you directly or indirectly from third parties.
  • Our transactions and experience with you and your employer.
  • On-line forms and through Internet technology, including the use of "cookies" and "IP addresses."

Exponent Technologies may share personal information in a variety of ways, including:

  • We use your personally identifiable information to communicate with you in the course of your employment or client relationship.
  •
  • We may transfer our database of employee information to a third-party contractor who provides employment verification services or third party administration services on behalf of Exponent Technologies. Such third-party contractors are contractually bound to hold all such information in confidence and do not share such information with any parties other than Exponent Technologies.
  • We will provide certain personally identifiable information to third party benefit providers in conjunction with the administration of benefit plans.

What are cookies and how are they used?
Like many other commercial web sites, we may utilize a standard web technology called "cookies" to collect and store information about how our site is used. Cookies were designed to help a web site operator determine that a particular user had visited the site previously and thus save and remember any preferences that may have been set while the user was browsing the site. They also enable us to pre-populate, or automatically fill out, forms and schedules. Cookies are small strings of text that web sites can send to your browser. Cookies do not retrieve any other data from your hard drive or obtain your e-mail address. If you are simply browsing a Exponent Technologies informational site, a cookie may be used to identify your browser as one that has visited the site before.

We may also make use of memory-based cookies in support of authenticating the user of certain Exponent Technologies web applications. Similarly, if you are a registered user of a site providing service to Exponent Technologies clients (and have a user ID and password), we may use cookies so that we can provide personalized information based on preferences you have indicated while using the site. Although you have the ability to modify your browser to either accept all cookies, notify you when a cookie is sent, or reject all cookies, some of these options may require that you re-enter your User ID and Password each time you enter the site.

You should disable the use of cookies on any system that provides multiple-user or common access, as this option may allow users to view another person's previously entered User ID and Password and potentially enter the site. Check the Security menus in the Internet Options screen of your browser to set the appropriate usage of cookies.

What is an IP Address and how is it used?
IP addresses are numbers that are automatically assigned to your computer, and, if associated with other individually identifiable information, could be considered personal information. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer and improve our websites. Your IP address is also used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information, some of which we aggregate and then share with our strategic alliances or potential strategic alliances companies. We also use your IP address to keep track of the information you have seen on our sites.

How can you correct, access, and update your information?
You may view and edit your personal information at any time by contacting us using the link provided on the web site.

How can you help protect your information?
Information you submit through our website, as well as the information we send back to you while you are visiting our website, is protected while passing through the Internet using strong encryption ("scrambling" to make it incomprehensible) when necessary. Our secure server software encrypts information, ensuring that Internet communications through our website stay private and protected.

Also remember to sign out of the registered site and close your browser window when you have finished your work. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if others have access to your computer.

Your account information is not stored on our Web server. It is stored on our secured corporate computer systems.

Other sites
Exponent Technologies sites may contain links to other sites, including those of our business partners. While we seek to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by other sites or for the content of what is offered on those sites.

What are your choices regarding collection, use, and distribution of your information?
If you have voluntarily provided information, you consented to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Notice. If, in connection with your use of a particular service, we ask to use your data in a way not described in this Privacy Notice and you do not wish to permit that use, you can choose not to use the particular service.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this notice, please contact Exponent Technologies.

Information On Our Website Security
The information for the accounts you have with ExponentHR from Exponent Technologies, Inc. is kept secure and confidential through multiple security features and procedures.

To ensure the security of your confidential account information, we use proven security software to encrypt the information before it is transmitted through the Internet. We only allow confidential information to be submitted for transmission if your browser is compatible with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), our security software. If your browser is not compatible, you will receive a message indicating your transaction can not be completed because of the security risk.

SSL establishes a secure connection between two parties (for example, your browser and our web server). It is used to implement HTTPS, the secure version of HTTP, and is an open technology supported across various browsers (for example, Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer). Exponent Technologies, Inc. requires that you use an SSL-enabled browser to communicate with the secure area of our site. You know you are visiting the secure area of our site when the URL begins with "https://...".

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secured. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us. This is especially true for information transmitted via e-mail. We have no way of protecting unencrypted information sent to us until it reaches our servers. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our servers.

Our corporate network systems, which store your account information, use industry standards.  We have data security staff whose responsibilities include the security of the information we process and store.

If you have further questions or comments regarding security, please let us know.
